The Story Behind the Fresh Coast.
Michigan‑born. Globally recognized. Built on intention, lineage refinement, and multi‑generation selection.
Where It Started
Fresh Coast Seed Co is a Michigan‑born genetics house built on selection, intention, and a commitment to clean, consistent lineage work. Founded in 2015, Fresh Coast emerged from the Great Lakes region with a simple philosophy: focus on authentic breeding and distinctive terpene expression.
Early work centered around structure, stability, and terpene identity — traits that translate across environments and remain true to their lineage. This approach led to the development of the Gorilla Butter line, a foundational Fresh Coast project that produced some of the most recognizable modern expressions in the Midwest, including the now‑famous White Truffle Cheese.
As the brand grew, Fresh Coast continued refining the Butter line through F2s, backcrosses, and multi‑generation selections — work that produced standout expressions such as White Truffle Cheese, Mandarin Butter, and the Blueberry Muffin cut (Gorilla Butter × Gorilla Butter F2). These cultivars became known for their frost, structure, and unmistakable aromatic profiles.
Fresh Coast’s reputation expanded further after earning a High Times Cannabis Cup win in 2019, a milestone that helped solidify the brand’s place in the modern genetics landscape.
Today, Fresh Coast genetics are collected and appreciated internationally. The brand now operates across multiple regions with dedicated partners in the U.S., Germany, Austria, Argentina, Spain, and the U.K.
Through this expansion, Fresh Coast has stayed true to its roots: small‑batch breeding, honest selections, and genetics valued for their lineage, structure, and terpene identity.
